2023-2024 Program Information coming soon!

The Waves is an elite fastpitch softball program offering a full schedule of practices, skill development, and tournament play. Athletes will have the opportunity to train year-round with our outstanding coaching staff. We offer focused instruction in hitting, defense, sports performance, pitching and catching at our training facilities in the South Metro area. Our athletes prepare and work together in the off-season to play against the toughest competition in our region and in national tournaments.

Off-Season Training

We will have regularly scheduled training and development opportunities throughout the off-season. Team focused hitting sessions will take place at The Cages in Burnsville along with defensive practices & sports performance at the Savage Sports Dome weekly. Small group pitching will be held at Strike Zone Sports in Eagan, and catching sessions will be held regularly. Off-season training will be available from early November until the end of February with a brief holiday break at the end of December. Groups will be split by age level to provide more focused instruction along with multiple coaches being available to assist with training and development.

Hitting will focus on all phases of the swing, hitting philosophy, mechanics, increasing power, bunting, and maximizing each player's potential.

Defense sessions will be used to work on infield and outfield skills, sports performance/conditioning, along with base running and softball IQ.

Pitching will be in small groups with drills to help increase both speed & accuracy of pitches, develop spin, and maximize efficiency.

Catching will be taught in groups with focus on blocking, throwing, receiving, and fine tuning skills to build strong leaders behind the plate.

Waves will continue to offer additional hitting opportunities through the Breakfast Club along with discounted winter memberships at The Cages.

Fall Program

Fall programming will include multiple practices weekly at South Metro locations including Lakeville, Prior Lake, and Savage. Each team will participate in 3-4 competitive fall tournaments including local USSSA/Top Tier, out-of-state competition, national tournaments, and college showcases based on team level. Travel is expected for 1-2 tournaments that may be out-of-state in the fall. Teams may also schedule scrimmages depending on availability.

Winter Program

Winter programming will include the off-season training outlined above along with 1-2 winter tournaments which may be dome tournament(s) and/or out-of-state competition. For our 12U teams, we offer the option to participate in a dome league during the winter season depending on coach/team availability. We understand that many of our athletes participate in high school dome leagues, captain’s practices, and other sports during the winter in addition to our off-season training and competition.

Summer Program

Summer programming will include multiple team practices weekly at South Metro locations including Lakeville, Prior Lake, and Savage. Each team will participate in 6-7 competitive summer tournaments including local USSSA/Top Tier, out-of-state competition, national tournaments, and college showcases based on team level. Travel is expected for 2-4 tournaments that may be out-of-state in the summer. Schedules will be based on the team age/skill level, desired travel, and coach/team availability. Teams may also schedule scrimmages depending on availability.

Recruiting Workshops

We will offer recruiting workshops in the off-season to develop player’s knowledge of the recruiting process. Players will also have access to discounted SportsRecruits memberships through the Waves program. This is a great opportunity to learn how to communicate with college coaches and see what it’s like to play at the next level.

Fundraising Opportunities

Waves will offer several fundraising opportunities in partnership with groups such as Heggie’s Pizza, Gertens, and Dynamic Fundraising. All fundraising opportunities are optional and 100% of funds will go directly toward player families.

Volunteering

We are excited to continue our holiday volunteer opportunities with Feed My Starving Children. More information will be provided to participants. Additional volunteer opportunities may be offered.
