15U
12U Donnelly Co-Champions USSSA June Jamboree

The Waves is an elite fastpitch softball program offering a full schedule of practices, skill development, and tournament play. Athletes will have the opportunity to train year-round with our outstanding coaching staff. We offer focused instruction in hitting, defense, sports performance, pitching and catching at our training facilities in the South Metro area. Our athletes prepare and work together in the off-season to play against the toughest competition in our region and in national tournaments.

Off-Season Training

We will have regularly scheduled training and development opportunities throughout the off-season. Team-focused hitting sessions will occur at The Cages in Burnsville, with weekly defensive practices and sports performance training at the Savage Sports Dome and Dunas Soccer Dome. Small group pitching sessions will be held at Strike Zone Sports in Eagan, and catching practices will occur regularly. Off-season training will be available from early November until the end of February, with a brief holiday break at the end of December.

Groups will be divided by age level to provide more focused instruction, and multiple coaches will be available to assist with training and development.

The hitting program will concentrate on all aspects of the swing, hitting philosophy, mechanics, power enhancement, bunting, and maximizing each player's potential.

Defensive sessions will focus on infield and outfield skills, sports performance and conditioning, base running, and developing softball IQ.

Catching will be taught in groups, emphasizing blocking, throwing, receiving, and honing skills to build strong leaders behind the plate.

Waves will continue providing additional hitting opportunities through the Breakfast Club and discounted winter memberships at The Cages.

The Cages Membership Discount

The Waves have partnered with the Cages to allow Waves players and families a $50 discount on a Membership at The Cages. Each membership is from September 1st to February 28th. It includes at least one hour of cage time per day based on availability. You can bring in a hitting or pitching coach or come in to hit on your own. We kindly request that you wear Waves gear while you are in the facility.

Fall Program

Fall programming will include multiple practices weekly at South Metro locations, including Lakeville and Burnsville at The Cages. Each team will participate in 3-4 competitive fall tournaments, including local USSSA/Top Tier events, out-of-state competitions, national tournaments, and/or college showcases, based on the team's level. Travel is expected for 1-2 tournaments, which may be out-of-state, in the fall. Teams may also schedule scrimmages depending on availability.

Winter Program

Winter programming will include the off-season training outlined above, along with 1-2 winter tournaments, which may be held in a dome and/or involve out-of-state competition. For our 12U teams, we offer the option to participate in a dome league during the winter season, contingent upon coach and team availability. We understand that many of our athletes participate in high school dome leagues, captain’s practices, and other sports during the winter in addition to our off-season training and competition.

Summer Program

Summer programming will include multiple team practices weekly at South Metro locations, including Lakeville and Burnsville. Each team will participate in 6-7 competitive summer tournaments, including local USSSA/Top Tier events, out-of-state competitions, national tournaments, and/or college showcases, based on the team's level. Travel is expected for 2-4 tournaments, which may be out-of-state, in the summer. Schedules will be based on the team's age, skill level, desired travel, and coach and team availability. Teams may also schedule scrimmages depending on availability.

Recruiting Workshops

We will offer recruiting workshops in the off-season to develop players’ knowledge of the recruiting process. Players will also have access to discounted SportsRecruits memberships through the Waves program. This is a great opportunity to learn how to communicate with college coaches and see what it’s like to play at the next level.

Fundraising Opportunities

Waves will present several fundraising options in collaboration with groups like Heggie’s Pizza, Dynamic Fundraising, and RaiseRight, which offer gift cards for daily purchases. All fundraising activities are voluntary. The Waves player fees include 15 free Dynamic Fundraising merchant discount cards, which can be sold for $20 each, providing a $300 reduction in the player's fee. Additional fundraising options include Heggie's Pizza and RaiseRight gift cards. Revenues from the Heggie's Pizza fundraiser and RaiseRight gift cards will be applied as credits toward the player's fee.
